TBYT Update

Over the past few months we have seen TBYT grow in some awesome ways. We are so blessed to have the support of people who are willing to assist us in our mission. We know that we haven’t posted a “real” blog post on here in a while, so we’re going to take the time to update you on some things that we have been up to.

First off, in July we were awarded a grant by The Awesome Foundation. This grant has allowed us to go through the process of becoming a non-profit organization (which is almost complete): http://www.awesomefoundation.org/en/projects/20794-think-before-you-type

In August, we were able to start speaking with students and other groups (This is our new favorite thing to do):

Victoria was chosen as a NCAM Youth Ambassador, and she just got back from training in Washington, DC. This trip allowed her to connect with young people from all over the country who are working towards helping others, and she was able to meet with a member of our state senator’s staff:

In October, will be panelists at the Digital Family Summit:

We just found out that have also been awarded the ABC Summer of Service Award! The funds from this award, which is sponsored by ABC and Youth Service America, will help us to continue our work in the community.

We are so thankful that we have been given the opportunity to spread our work all over. We are currently working on some really exciting things that will come about in the next couple of months. Thank you so much to everyone who has helped us to raise awareness about cyberbullying, promote positive self-esteem, and encourage other young people to use the internet for good. We couldn’t do this without you!

September Dare

We’re back in school and extremely busy, so we’re experimenting with shifting the Dares to a monthly schedule. This will give you more time to complete them! We would love to hear all about what you’re planning on doing to help out others in the month of September.
